Some of you might be thinking that the heading of this article and the body of text that is about to follow has nothing to do with each other.. Especially when the heading is such a sensational heading.

But here on boskak we refrain from posting deceiving headlines, just to gain some more clicks. In other words, Microsoft (even though it might have been unintentional) have in fact released a highly kept navy secrete that helped keep the USA nuclear at the forefront of nuclear warfare.

A quick background on the article below.

Basically what happened is that a guy was browsing Microsoft Live Search (something like google earth) just poking around looking at real estate, and found a picture of the not-so-secret-anymore submarine base at Bangor.

But that isn’t the end of it, he found a submarine in the dry dock with it’s propellers exposed!

Now some of you might think : “Okay, so the propellers are exposed. So what?”

“US submarines are designed for speed and stealth. The Navy takes great pains to keep this technology a secret. The most critical part of that secret is the design of the propellers that drive the subs and keep them quiet.

Whenever the submarine is brought into the graving dock for service, one of the first things that they do is cover the propeller with a tarp so that it can not be photographed. Evidently, if you know what they look like, you can figure out how to copy them and make your subs quiet too.”
