Yesterday I booked my car in for its annual service. One of the problems the mechanic found was that the rear brake shoe had broken and the pieces of it were rolling around in the drum, causing a constant rattling when I drove and a clunking noise when I braked.
Now last year my brakes started making a noise and I needed them to be replaced. I took the car into one of the Conti partner Pitstops and asked them to have a look at it. They said the front disc pads needed to be replaced so I had that done. So off I went on my merry way, but now there was still a noise and my brakes felt very loose. So, I took it back and they ended up replacing the drums at the back.
Anyways, to cut a long story short, I ended up going back 7 times and spent over R5000 in the process. After all that, there was still a noise which I decided to ignore. Finally, yesterday, months after the initial debacle, the mechanic around the corner finds and solves the problem. And how much did that brake shoe cost me? R15.

HAHAHAHA!! RAPED! Dude… thats insane..
We’ve had that too.. Our plumbing was raped and I can’t remember how many times we got people out to fix it, but it always just broke again. Must have also spent a couple of g’s.
So finally some old man is busy fixing CHAIRS for us, and needs to use the bath room. We explain that it is raped, and the problems we have been having. He takes one look at it, and goes.. oooh! and fixes it in like 10mins, doesn’t even charge us!
Btw, the one guy wanted to remove like the whole system. But we told him to piss off!

The problem is that in big companies, no-one seems to be held accountable. They always pass the buck, telling you to speak to the supervisor, then manager and at the end of it all you’re just too pissed off to try and sort it out. With a one-man show like my mechanic, if something fucks out it’s his fault. He can’t blame anyone else. That’s why he does the job properly in the first place.

true true.. I’ve been hearing soooo many kak stories of people who have been raped over by standard bank and other banks for that matter..
Just take it to management. My mom had it once, and she did infact take it to management. Got it all sorted out.. Had to go like to second in charge, but she did it
